The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to calculate the BMR, taking into account their weight, height, and age.

The Mifflin-St Jeor equation for calculating Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is as follows:

  • For men: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5
  • For women: BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161

  • High activity (intense exercise or physical work): BMR × 1.9
